Pacifica Cup Tournament
Format
The team from either the USA or Australia / New Zealand
("ANZACS") will take home the "Friendship
Cup".
Each entrant becomes part of their country's team.
There is no maximum number in a team.
The first and second competitive rounds will be Stableford
format. The third and fourth will be Matchplay format.
Monday PRACTICE
ROUND (Mixed Nations)
Tuesday STABLEFORD
> The 20 best men's and the 20 best women's scores
of each team to be totaled.
> Winning Team receives 8 points Runner Up Team receives
4 points
Wednesday STABLEFORD
> Repeat of Tuesday. (Points will be totaled for
the first two days.)
Friday & Saturday MATCH
PLAY
> Over these two days competitors will play against
a member from the opposing team. Pairings will be based
on handicaps and the scores from the previous two rounds.
> Individual men and individual women will compete
in matchplay with the longer handicapper receiving the
appropriate strokes from his or her opponent.
> Each individual will be awarded:
1 point for a win or 1/2 point for a tie
These points will be added to the team points from
the first two days.
> The winner of the Qantas Pacifica
Friendship Cup will be the Team with the most
points at the completion of the final day.
OTHER PRIZES
Over the first three days, compete for a selection
of top individual prizes.
NOTE: As only the top 20 men's and women's scores
are counted from teams in the Stableford rounds an 'out
of character' poor individual round will not disadvantage
your team. All entrants will be provided an explanation
of the Stableford scoring system that will be used.
