Pacifica Cup - the 'Friendship' Golfing Tournament In 1997 Australia New Zealand Golf decided the time was right to hold a tournament for everyday golfers. The idea was to give players from the three countries of Australia, New Zealand (team ANZACS), and USA the opportunity to play against each other for a trophy, while enjoying unique hospitality, accommodation, great golf and friendship!

The 7 tournaments held to date have been resounding successes. The purpose of the initial event has been achieved – to have fun, play great golf courses, meet other like-minded golfers from Friendship Cup countries, enjoy fine food, stay in spectacular accommodations and be welcomed by old-fashioned hospitality.

2010 Pacifica "Friendship" Cup

The 7th “Pacifica Friendship Cup” was held in New Zealand’s scenic gem, Queenstown from March 6th to 12th 2010. It was a week of great golf on top courses, including Millbrook and the exciting new and acclaimed Jack’s Point. Luxury accommodation at Millbrook Country Club with all breakfasts, exciting evening functions, land transfers plus much more was included in the tournament package.

Friendships were renewed by previous participants returning and new ones were forged with those attending for the first time. By a close margin the Northern Hemisphere Team again came out the victors.

A fully escorted pre-tournament tour taking in some of the North Island’s golfing and scenic highlights was enjoyed by a group comprising participants from England, USA, Australia and New Zealand – a combination that immediately struck up the ‘Pacifica’ camaraderie and created a great 2 week holiday when combined with the ‘Pacifica Cup’ week in Queenstown.

2007 Pacifica "Friendship" Cup

Held March 23rd / April 1st of 2007, the Pacifica Cup returned to the Sunshine Coast of Queensland. This venue was extremely well received by those who travelled there with us in 2003. We stayed at the luxurious Sheraton Noosa Resort & Spa which has beautiful expansive rooms with outdoor balconies and many other special touches. The hotel has undergone some wonderful recent renovations.

While there, we had the opportunity to enjoy the great beaches, and wonderful shopping and restaurants, all within a very easy walk.

The format of our tournament remained essentially the same. We had the opportunity to play three different top-rated courses over the five scheduled rounds. Yet again "Team USA" managed a close victory.
